Desolate

Today I told Austin I'd take him for a drive through Wildwood Zoo to see the buffalo and albino deer. He enjoyed them, but was wanting me to rush through so he could play at the playground. Poor thing. I knew it was chilly out; we were dressed appropriately. He didn't want his mittens on, so when he reached out to touch the playground equipment to go up the stairs, he quickly pulled his hand back complaining how cold the bar was. He lost interest right then and there. He was the only child there today. I guess all the kids stayed away because their moms knew better. Shame on me, huh?! I thought fresh air would be good, and I thought there would be a few kids there....but not another warm body to be seen. Oh well. I did encourage him to go on a few things, and then we scrambled back in the car and headed to Auntie Dawn's house for a visit and some hot cocoa. ♥
